Europa Halo partner with EGL for the Halo 5 Spring Series

Announced today Europa Halo will be partnering with EGL (Esports Gaming League) for the Halo 5: Guardians Spring Series.

Starting in April, 2v2’s will be returning with three open tournaments, at the end of the season, the top eight teams will be invited (based on seeding) to the season finals in May.

  • 2v2 | 11 April – Open
  • 2v2 | 18 April – Open
  • 2v2 | 25 April – Open
  • 2v2 | 2 May – European Championships

There’s money up for grabs for the top three and one team will be crowned the 2v2 European Champions.

In May we return to 4v4’s with another three open tournaments, and season finale later that month.

  • 4v4 | 16 May – Open
  • 4v4 | 23 May – Open
  • 4v4 | 30 May – European Championships

Open Cup 1, 2 3 Winners = £30

Season Finals

Winners = £120
Runners Up = £60
3rd Place = £40
EGL will pay the entitled players and done so via their payout policy.

Tournament Structure

The Open Cups and Season Finals will be Double Elimination cups. Seeding will be determined initially on previous placings with qualification points then being used for cups #2 and #3.

The Season Finals will be determined by the top 8 teams based on their qualification points. Teams that win an open cup will gain automatic qualification to the season finals, winners can continue to play in the cups. Qualification points will too determine the seeding for the season final cup.Qualification points will be awarded on the following basis:

  • 1st = 250 Points
  • 2nd = 200 Points
  • 3rd = 150 Points
  • 4th = 100 Points
  • 5th – 6th = 80 Points
  • 7th – 8th = 60 Points
  • 9th – 12th = 40 Points
  • 13th – 16th = 20 Points
  • 17th – 24th = 10 Points
  • 25th – 32rd = 5 Points

It two teams are tied on points for top 8 then the following tie-breaker conditions will be reviewed:

  • Head to Head Record
  • Series W/L%
  • Map W/L%
